Federations & networks

One platform for the whole movement.

Apexes, district unions and primary societies each run as a full union, with their own members, books, board and committees, linked by affiliation.

District Society

The same system at every level.

When a district union holds an election or suspends a member, it's the same process a primary uses. What differs is who its members are: people at a primary, societies above it.

Show as list
  • Apex · National league: affiliation dues from district unions; refinance and portfolio guarantees to them
    • District union · West: dues and placements from primaries; refinance to them
      • Lakeside Teachers (with two branches)
      • Balogun Traders
      • Unity Farmers
    • District union · Coast: dues and placements from primaries; refinance to them
      • St Mary's Parish (with one branch)
      • Coast Nurses

Money that moves between unions.

Affiliation and dues

Affiliate with one approval; dues are charged per member, flat or by size, and settled on schedule.

Placements

Primaries place surplus liquidity with their district union, within agreed ceilings.

Refinance and on-lending

District unions refinance primaries; primaries report how the money is on-lent.

Portfolio guarantees

An apex can guarantee part of a society's loan portfolio.

Consolidation

Group figures that don't count money twice.

Consolidated reports eliminate placements, refinance and dues between members of the group, so the movement's balance sheet shows real assets, not every naira counted at each level it passed through.

  • Consolidated balance sheet for any part of the tree
  • Affiliates' monthly returns gathered in one place
  • A district union sees its own funding risk

Founding, incubating and graduating societies.

  1. Step 1: Charter

A district union charters a new primary, or spins a branch out into its own society.

  2. Step 2: Incubate

The parent supervises under a mandate that is explicit, disclosed and expires.

  3. Step 3: Graduate

The society takes full control when it meets the conditions.

  4. Step 4: Merge

When members decide, societies merge with a vote and a preview of the result.

Bring your affiliates with you

Invite your affiliates by email from your dashboard. Each society registers and sets itself up, then links to you with one approval from your side.
