For primary societies

Run your society, not your spreadsheets.

For community and open-bond credit unions and SACCOs that have outgrown ledger books and Excel. Admit members, take savings, lend against guarantees and close the year, on one set of books your officers set up themselves.

  • Free to set up
  • Practise on a sample society
  • Your own bye-law rules
Members' services

Sound familiar?

  • Year-end takes us weeks, and the dividend sums never quite agree.

  • Members ask what they can withdraw and we have to work it out by hand.

  • Nobody can say, quickly, who has guaranteed whose loan.

How Bridge helps

Everything a primary society does, in one place.

A day in the life

A Tuesday at the society office.

  1. 9:00: The secretary admits three new members.

Each gets a member number, their common-bond evidence is attached, and the system tracks the entrance fee and shares they still owe.

  2. 11:30: A member asks to withdraw.

The teller opens the withdrawal quote: ₦40,000 available now, the rest held by guarantees and notice, each with a reason.

  3. 15:00: The credit committee meets.

Three applications are waiting in Appraisal. The committee records its recommendation; the board's approvals are counted automatically.

Set-up

Your bye-laws, configured in an afternoon.

Share price, minimum shares, entrance fee, monthly contribution, loan multiplier, approvals per loan, self-guarantee limit and statutory reserve are entered once during set-up, pre-filled from your country's template and explained with worked examples.

  • Changes later need board approval and an effective date
  • Existing accounts keep the terms they were opened with
  • Every rule is visible to the supervisory committee

Questions officers ask

Can we have members who save but don't borrow?

Yes. Borrowing is optional; savings products and shares work on their own.

We have a branch in another town. Does it need separate books?

No. A branch collects for the society and reports separately, without its own ledger.

Can junior members save with us?

Yes. Junior accounts move to an adult product at 18, carrying the year's rebate across.

What if we're affiliated to a district union?

You can link to your district union during set-up if it's on Bridge; dues and placements then flow automatically.
